Under the patronage of Mr. Abdullah Al-Saadoon, President-Operations, Sipchem has launched its own Toastmasters Club, duly registered with Toastmasters International (USA) under serial number # 1364056. With this, Sipchem became the first ever petrochemical company in the Kingdom to start a Toastmasters Club in the private sector. The kick-off meeting, called “Demo Meeting” was held on Jan. 30, 2010 in New Engineering Building attended by more than 30 Sipchem nominated members employees, some of whom eagerly participated in Table Topics Session (impromptu speech session). Guest speakers from Sabic and other organizations made presentations explaining all about toastmasters and also conducted a typical meeting to demonstrate how it all works. Mr. Matar Al-Dhafeeri and Mr. Faris Al-Muhawis have been nominated as the President and Vice President (Education) of the Club, respectively.
Toastmasters Club helps its members become better communicators and leaders through a series of organized meetings where there is no instructor nor a student. Sipchem Toastmasters Club will start meeting twice a month. |
