Mr. MAHMOUD S. AL-THEEB
General Manager, Maintenance & Technical Services
Mr. Mahmoud Al-Theeb graduated in 1993 with Honors degree in Chemical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Following his graduation, Mr. Al-Theeb joined Saudi Petrochemical Company (Sadaf) which is a joint venture between SABIC & Shell located in Jubail Industrial city as a Process Engineer. In Sadaf, M Al-Theeb progressed to be the department Manager for the MTBE plant, then the Styrene and the Crude Industrial Ethanol department manager then the Manager of Planning Logistics and Economics.
In 2004, Mr. Al-Theeb joined International Methanol Company, an affiliate of Sipchem as Assistant General Manager – Operations. He successfully managed safe commissioning & start-up and the plant went on stream end of the year 2004, in an unprecedented record project execution period without any major safety incident.
In 2006, Mr. Al-Theeb was actively involved in the establishment of a world scale Acetyls Complex and worked as General Manager – Operations until April 30, 2011. In the Acetyls complex, he involved in setting up the departments of the Acetic Acid, Vinyl Acetate Monomer and Carbon Monoxide.
He also chaired Sipchem Safety Advisory Committee besides being the Secretary to the Board of Directors for International Acetyl Company Limited, International Vinyl Acetate Company Limited and International Gases Company Limited. Lately, Mr. Al-Theeb was elected as a board member for the U&O and the EA Companies.
Effective May 1, 2011, Mr. Al-Theeb moved from Acetyls Complex and took up the role of Sipchem General Manager, Maintenance & Technical Services.
