Mr. ALBERT BIGGS
General Manager, Maintenance & Technical Services
Mr. Albert Biggs graduated in June of 1974 from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
Following graduation he worked several years in the Materials and Corrosion Engineering field on several major petrochemical plant capital projects for both Bechtel Corporation and Stone and Webster. In 1979 Albert joined ARCO Chemical Company where he worked for 22 years and then another 5 years after the Lyondell acquisition. In early 2006 he joined Sipchem as the Maintenance and Technical Services General Manager.
During his career at ARCO and Lyondell Albert held various Engineering and Maintenance Leadership positions in both Corporate Engineering and in the Manufacturing organization all with progressively increasing responsibilities.
Key Corporate Engineering Management positions held by Albert included Specialty Engineering, Worldwide Inspection Services and Projects Controls. In these capacities he was instrumental in establishing the Company’s Engineering, Inspection and Maintenance Standards Program and in setting up Plant Inspection Programs in all of the company’s chemical facilities worldwide. These programs focused on managing asset integrity, asset improvement and in achieving Operational Excellence.
As part of Manufacturing, Albert led numerous Reliability, Engineering and Maintenance Management improvement initiatives focused on Operational Excellence. He held Maintenance Management positions at manufacturing facilities in both the United States and Europe and as the Benelux Engineering Manager was a key contributor in achieving top quartile industry performance for the Company.
At Sipchem, Albert leads the organization that provides shared services to all Affiliates. These services include Maintenance, Control Systems and Electrical Engineering, Plant Projects, Reliability Engineering, Process Safety and Risk Management, Quality Control Laboratory Services, Information Technology, and Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality functions. |
